If You Want To Grow, You Need To Go

My Dad has this saying when you are thinking about sales and expansion, “If you want to grow, go.” This can correlate with pretty much anything in business, for example, sales, marketing and global growth. If you want to close a deal with a big customer, go, visit them and show them why you should manage their account. If you want to expand into a new market, go and see what the market is like. If you want to expand into a new country, go and learn about that country. This seems like a simple saying and even simpler in actual application, but it’s not. There are so many owners whose simple answer is, “I don’t have time to go”. It may not seem cost effective, or the right use of your time, and you might think “I have more important things to do”, or more focused on base business, I’ve heard it all! But the simple fact remains the same, a face to face meeting with a new client is always the best. If you want to grow you need to go!
