Turning Challenges to Opportunities

All of us around the world are dealing with Covid-19 in many different ways. A pandemic like this has really changed the world for the foreseeable future. For the past 3 months plus, many of us have spent more time at our homes, more time not traveling, more time being with immediate family, business paused and in many cases shut down….I looked at this in March with my wife and we had two decisions to make, let life happen to us or adjust and attack life. I’m proud to say we did the latter. We first looked at ourselves and asked, why should change? We saw our diet as a problem and my wife and I started cooking more, less takeout and we basically live in the produce section at Publix now. 2nd, I looked at my diet and weight. I was an unhealthy 215 pounds and didn’t have a very active lifestyle. Fast forward to July 5th, I am 180 pounds and feel a lot better with my daily workout routine. 3rd, we looked at our home and what we could add or change to it. We started home projects and started working on things we had put off.  For a business side, I was able to work on processes and really dig into our database and clean up some things we “never had time for”.

Overall, we have grown throughout this experience. Grown closer together, closer to the business and closer to really living.

I really wish this never happened, and business and life continued as normal. There are many people who have been negatively changed by this for a physical, mental and financial point of view. But, there have been some major positives to look at and we should continue to fight and work on what we can to make us even better when this is over.
